Reverse osmosis is a water treatment process that involves pushing water through a semipermeable membrane to remove impurities and contaminants. The process is effective at removing minerals, bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants from water.


No, water treatment cannot remove all contaminants from water. Some contaminants, such as volatile organic compounds, may require additional treatment methods beyond those used in traditional water treatment processes.

Fouling and scaling are caused by high levels of hardness, iron, manganese, silica, microbial growth, and organic matter. Pretreatment with softeners, anti-scalants, and filtration is essential to prevent damage and extend membrane life.


Dosages are calculated based on water chemistry (hardness, alkalinity, pH, TDS), flow rate, system pressure, and operating temperature. HNJ Hydro Chem uses lab analysis and software modeling to optimize chemical dosing. 


 

  • SAC Resin: High capacity for water softening and demineralization; effective for complete hardness removal.
     
  • WAC Resin: Mainly used for bicarbonate removal; ideal for pH adjustment and partial demineralization.


Selecting the resin type depends on feedwater composition and process requirements.


Efficiency depends on contact time, particle size, water temperature, chlorine concentration, and organics load. Regular media replacement and backwashing are required to maintain adsorption performance.


Key parameters include TDS, conductivity, pH, ORP, flow rate, temperature, and pressure differentials. Automated sensors with SCADA or control panels provide real-time monitoring and alerts for deviations.


ZLD is a system that recovers nearly all water from wastewater, leaving minimal brine for disposal. It is achieved through a combination of RO, evaporators, crystallizers, and advanced filtration systems.


Boiler water requires daily monitoring of pH, conductivity, hardness, and oxygen content. Chemical dosing for corrosion inhibition, scale prevention, and oxygen scavenging is typically continuous or daily depending on system size and design.


Through a combination of biocides, corrosion inhibitors, periodic cleaning, and monitoring of pH and conductivity. Properly dosed treatment prevents slime, algae, and Legionella growth while protecting system surfaces.


Resin regeneration is based on exhaustion cycles, measured as capacity in grains per liter or throughput in m³. Replacement occurs when regeneration no longer restores original capacity or water quality falls below specification.
